Dr Pepper Pecans

1 cup Dr Pepper
2 tablespoons (1/4 stick) butter
1 cup pecan halves
Salt

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.  Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil.
  2. In a small saucepan, bring the Dr Pepper and butter to a boil over medium-high heat.  Simmer until the liquid reduces by half, about 15 minutes.
  3. Stir in the pecans and cook until the liquid becomes a sticky glaze, 3 to 4 minutes.  Add a big pinch of salt, stir, and transfer the nuts to the prepared baking sheet.  Bake, stirring once or twice, until toasted, about 10 minutes.

Notes:  I didn’t let the liquid become quite sticky enough and think Sea Salt would be a better addition than regular salt.  Next time!

That said – the pecans were oh so good!
